A Joyful Summer Tented Wedding at Exmoor Country Club
There are wedding days that feel beautiful, and then there are wedding days that feel genuinely joyful from beginning to end. This Exmoor Country Club wedding was exactly that.
With a classic green and white color palette, a large bridal party, a beautiful church ceremony, and a reception under a beautifully designed tent, the entire day felt polished without ever losing its sense of warmth. Most of all, the bride and groom—and their families were an absolute joy to be around. Their happiness was contagious, and it made documenting the day incredibly special.
As a Chicago wedding photographer, I have photographed weddings throughout the city and across the North Shore, and Exmoor Country Club continues to be one of those places that offers so much variety for photographs. The grounds provide beautiful natural backdrops for portraits, while the clubhouse and tented reception create a completely different atmosphere as the day unfolds.
A Perfect Summer Day at Exmoor Country Club
The weather could not have been better. Summer weddings can sometimes mean watching the forecast a little too closely, but this day gave us everything we could have hoped for: beautiful sunshine, comfortable temperatures, and a gorgeous evening that made an outdoor tented reception feel like exactly where everyone should be.
The setting at Exmoor was especially beautiful in the summer. Green lawns, mature trees, and the classic country club setting created a natural backdrop for the day’s portraits and provided a beautiful transition from the church ceremony to the celebration that followed.
And with a tented wedding reception, the outdoors became part of the experience rather than simply the view outside the windows.
Green and White Done Beautifully
The design of the wedding centered around a classic green and white palette, and it worked beautifully against the summer landscape at Exmoor Country Club designed by North Shore Weddings and Events. White florals, lush greenery, beautiful linens, and carefully considered production details came together to create a reception that felt fresh and sophisticated while still being welcoming. It was a celebration where the details mattered but never overshadowed the people.That balance is one of the things I love most about photographing weddings. Beautiful design gives a gallery a strong visual foundation, but it is the people, relationships, and moments happening within that setting that make the photographs meaningful years later.
As guests moved into the tent for the reception, the atmosphere shifted into full celebration mode.
The production team transformed the space with rentals, lighting, and draping that gave the tent an elevated, finished feel. Tables were dressed in beautiful linens, floral arrangements brought the green and white palette throughout the space, and the lighting created the perfect atmosphere as the evening continued.
With Evolution Orchestra and Arlen Music Productions leading the entertainment, the dance floor quickly became the place to be. The energy of the reception was incredible, and it was clear that this group knew how to celebrate together.
Some of my favorite wedding photographs are the ones where you can almost hear the tent the laughter, the music, the cheering, the hugs, and the people completely letting themselves enjoy the moment. This reception had plenty of those.
A Chicago North Shore Wedding Worth Remembering
A summer wedding at Exmoor Country Club is a wonderful setting for couples looking for the classic beauty of a North Shore country club with the flexibility to create a celebration that feels entirely their own.
This wedding was a perfect example.
It was elegant without feeling stiff. Beautiful without feeling overly designed. And above all, it was incredibly joyful.
From the church ceremony to portraits on the grounds, from the green and white reception details to a packed dance floor underneath the tent, every part of the day reflected a couple who were completely surrounded by people they love.
I feel incredibly lucky that I got to document it.
